When do they film qi

There were a number of pauses and sections that I can imagine being edited out without much thought, but all in all, it was pretty seamless. They only needed to one short re-take at the end, which I think was pretty unusual.

As was the organisation for the whole experience. Seeing behind the scenes, before, after and during the show was especially fascinating. The number of people involved in the production was staggering for one thing; ushers, camera people, lighting crew, director, runners etc.

I in the same way again for sure. Being that these shows need a full audience, the organisers always oversubscribe tickets to make sure there are no empty seats. Based on advice I found online, we arrived at The London Studios around two and a half hours before showtime.

My research seemed to indicate that most people turn up two hours early; we found this to be correct. Shortly after we joined the queue, the line grew very quickly. Around an hour into our wait, we were given numbered paper tickets by a staff member. At this stage, we knew we were in — our numbers were 85 and The Q.

I studio holds approximately people. It may sound funny to wait longer for the experience than for the actual experience itself, but the time went relatively quickly. We brought snacks and entertainment with us, and the weather was good.

The studios allow audience members to use the toilets while waiting, so there are no problems on that front either. They are now looking into some random Rs. The rules are simple, but the questions are virtually impossible. There are no wrong answers - only boring, predictable answers, many of which lurk in QI 's final round, "General Ignorance". If such an answer is given, this triggers of a series of klaxons and a large penalty. Most of these penalties tend to go to Alan Davies , QI 's only permanent panellist and resident loser.

Despite appearing on every episode, Alan has so far won just 41 times. QI is one of the BBC's biggest successes in recent years. First broadcast on BBC Two, from the second series the episodes were premiered a week beforehand on BBC Four , where it once enjoyed the highest viewing figures of any programme on the channel. Older episodes are broadcast on Dave. Originally the idea was to create an annotated Encyclopaedia Britannica - "The world's first non-boring encyclopaedia". This later mutated to become an idea for a radio show, and then as a television show.

First proposed for radio with Lloyd as host, production company TalkbackThames preferred to pitch the format for television. Jeremy Clarkson Self as Self. More like this. Watch options. Storyline Edit. Add content advisory. Did you know Edit. Trivia Stephen Fry and Alan Davies were originally cast as the leaders of the "clever" team and the "stupid" team, respectively.

Michael Palin was asked to be the host, but he didn't feel he was right for the role. After Fry and Davies settled into their roles, the idea of having two teams was discarded. Goofs The photograph of the piece of knitting with "I woolly love you" in Morse Code knitted into it is shown upside down.

This is particularly noticeable because the O in you dash dash dash and the I dot dot , are in the wrong places. Quotes Stephen Fry : [quoting Albert Einstein] Only two things are infinite - the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not so sure about the universe.

Crazy credits The researchers who provide the questions and information for Stephen Fry are credited as "QI Elves" which is how they are referred to on the show. So, for instance, when the given topic was something like "All things french", an accordion would be heard prominently in the mix.

But perhaps the most obvious case of modification would be in the "Holiday Special", where in addition to jingle-bells being added, the first two lines from the song by that same name were cleverly integrated into the music - thus adding three more notes to the second line of the main melody.
